The vigilance department today arrested the principal of a homoeopathic college on charges of corruption in Bihar's Munger district, an official release said.
Acting on a complaint by Amrit Kumar Singh, a vigilance team laid a trap and caught the principal, Saryug Rai, of Munger-based 'The Temple of Hahnemann Homoeopathic Medical College' red-handed for taking Rs 30,000 as bribe inside his office premises, the release said.
Singh, a native of Banka district, had lodged a complaint with the anti-graft agency claiming that Rai had demanded Rs 50,000 in lieu of issuing certificate for internship and house surgeonship to him, the release said.
Rai was being brought to Patna where he will be produced before a designated vigilance court, it said.
