Atwal will be conferred with the award at a function at the House of Lords in London to be held on November 6, an official spokesperson said.
Meanwhile reacting over his nomination, Atwal reaffirmed his commitment to work for the upliftment of weaker section of the society.
He reiterated that a level-playing field should be provided to the students of weaker sections of the society by ensuring basic education facilities and common syllabus throughout the country.
This award is given to people for their contribution in the fields of Education, art, sports, science and technology and commerce.
