Honour for soldiers who died, participated in war with China

Defence Minister A K Antony along with the three Services Chiefs and the Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh will lay wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti on Saturday to mark 50 years of the war, Defence Ministry officials said here.

This will be the first time in the last 50 years that officers and soldiers who died or participated in the war would be honoured, they said.

Indian troops suffered reverses in the war along the northern sector in Ladakh area and northeastern states but dealt severe blows to the enemy in battles of Rezang La.
