A youth and a teenage girl were found murdered today in a suspected case of honour killing in Rajgarh Dhobi village in the district, police said.
As per preliminary investigation, both were allegedly murdered by the relatives of the deceased girl yesterday, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jorwal said.
The deceased youth has been identified as Ramesh (22) while the girl was identified as Poonam (18).
According to SP Jorwal, Ramesh was beaten badly by Poonam's relatives last night after he was found with her in a compromising position in the latter's home.
Ramesh succumbed to his injuries later at his home, the SP said.
The girl was allegedly strangulated to death and her body was later hanged in her room to suggest she had committed suicide, he said.
On the complaint of deceased youth's brother, police have registered a case of murder against girl's father Tara Chand and other relatives--Raj Kumar, Ram Niwas, Surinder and Shashi.
Accused Tara Chand, Ram Niwas and Shashi have been arrested in this case, Jorwal said, adding that the bodies have been handed over to the respective families after postmortem.
