Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced a scheme for registered women construction workers of the state under which they will be given money to buy items of need.
Under the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Nirman Shramik Sammaan' scheme, registered women construction workers will be given Rs 5,100 to purchase clothing, shoes, sanitary napkins, kitchen utensils, rubber mattress and umbrella, an official release said.
Earlier, Rs 1,000 was paid to such women workers for purchase of suits and sarees.

The announcement was made by Hooda while presiding over the 11th meeting of the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board here today, the release said.
Hooda also announced other incentives for construction workers, including a six-time increase in financial assistance for a registered worker on account of maternity benefit from Rs 5,000 to Rs 30,000, in addition to Rs 1000 per month for nutritional supplement for six months.
Also, the money paid to them under the 'Kanyadan Scheme' for marriage of upto two daughters has been increased from Rs 31,000 to Rs 51,000.
The Chief Minister also announced scholarships for the children of the registered workers ranging from Rs 3000 to Rs 15,000 per class per year right from class 1, instead of Class 9 earlier.
He also announced to increase amount of pension being given to eligible beneficiaries from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 per month, which would be in addition to the old-age allowance scheme of the state government.
Hooda also announced that that now driving licence, voter card, ID or Aadhar card, ration card, Indian passport or PAN card would be accepted as age proof for registration of workers as beneficiaries of the Board.
