The survey to lay railway lines in Mewat has been completed and Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has written to the Railways department stating that the state government would bear half of the cost of the project, a state minister said today.

"The process to acquire land for the project would soon commence," Haryana Transport Minister Aftab Ahmed told reporters here.

He also said that a rail corridor would also be developed in Taoru.

On the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway project, he said that 87 per cent work of the expressway from Palwal to Manesar has already been completed.

He also said that projects and schemes involving an investment of over Rs 3,000 crore have commenced from January 1 as announced by Chief Minister at a rally in Gohana recently.

Ahmed said with a view to promote education in Mewat, a separate cadre of teachers has been set up and teachers were being recruited under it.
