The Ashwin Navratri mela began with religious fervour at the shrine complex today and a large number of people visited the shrine to pay obeisance, official sources said.
Accompanied by his wife Asha Hooda, the Chief Minister also performed Ghat Sthapna amidst chanting of hymns.
While interacting with media persons, Hooda greeted the people on the occasion of Navratras and said that he prayed for the well being and prosperity of the people.
He wished that evil spirits should leave the society to let it prosper and all should live in a harmony.
A large number of devotees throng the temple during Navratras as the people have immense faith in the goddess Shri Mata Mansa Devi, added Hooda.

He said that a 'Gaushala' would be constructed in the Shrine complex over an area of six acres.
Apart from this a 'Sarovar' (Sacred tank) was being constructed to further beautify the complex.
When his attention was drawn towards the steps taken by the state Government to curb the menace of female foeticide, Hooda said that a number of schemes have been implemented by the Government to ensure all round development of girls and as a result of this, the sex ratio has improved.
Earlier, Hooda also inaugurated a blood donation camp.

Hooda announced to allot a piece of land measuring 1050 sq mtrs to the Gurudwara as its managing committee had requested a piece of land to construct a 'sarovar.'
