The Haryana government will launch the Centre's ambitious food security scheme tomorrow, an official spokesman said here today.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will roll out the scheme from Panipat tomorrow coinciding with the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

"Nearly half of the total population of the state will directly benefited from this scheme," the spokesman said.

"The state government expects nearly 1.26 crore people in rural and urban areas to be covered under the scheme which will be almost 51.6 per cent of the state's total population," he said.

The state government has already framed guidelines for identification of eligible households to be covered under the scheme, the spokesman said.
