Hooda visits family of slain Indian soldier

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today visited the family of Subedar Kanwar Pal Singh Raghav, who died in an attack on a UN compound in South Sudan, and condoled his death at Bhondsi village near here.

Hooda assured his father Kanhiya Singh Raghav of government help and said his family will be given all benefits under the policy of the state government for martyrs.

He announced that the Government Senior Secondary School in Bhondsi village would be named after the martyr, an official spokesman said here.

The Chief Minister also said that Subedar Singh's daughter Anjali would be given a job according to her qualifications, the spokesman said.
 

He consoled Kanhiya Singh, and the martyr's mother Moorti Devi and wife Asnee Lata.

Raghav, a member of Army Medical Corps 8 Raj Rifles, was on United Nations Peace Keeping Mission in South Sudan, was killed in a terrorist attack on December 19.

His mortal remains were flown to India and consigned to flames on Monday last at his native village.
