Actor Jimmy Shergill who will be seen next in horror flick 'Darr@The Mall' says this genre needs to be respected.

"I am a huge fan of horror films. I enjoying watching such films especially in the night... In the dark as that is the fun part... I have loved watching 'Raaz' and 'Haunted'," Jimmy told PTI.

Jimmy feels there is an audience who loves watching horror films, just like him, but the genre needs to be tapped properly.

"I was keen on doing a horror film and I now I have ended up doing it. I feel the genre is not respected much here. The idea with this film is to raise the bar (of horror films in India). I am hopeful this film will revive things as it has got an international feel to it," he said.

In this film, Jimmy will be seen playing a security agent.

Considering today everything is about how much money the film would be making at the box office, Jimmy hopes 'Darr@The Mall' does good business.

As the title goes, the film was mostly shot at various malls in the city in the night. But there were no spooky or scary experiences.

Apparently, the film's premise is a mall haunted by spirits which has killed nine people.

The film, which is directed by Pavan Kripalani of 'Ragini MMS' fame also stars Nushrat Bharucha, Arif Zakaria, Asif Basra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Shraddha Kaul. It is slated to release on February 21.
