Hospital compounder's body found in Samastipur

Body of the compounder of a private hospital, missing afte his evening duty in Samastipur town last night, was discovered today.

The body bore gunshot injuries.

Samastipur Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Amir Javed said the compounder (medical assistant) has been identified as Awadhesh Rai (35).

The body was recovered from Kashipur locality of the town, though Rai was a resident of Dharampur locality.

"Once his duty at the hospital got over at 9.30 pm, he left and remained untraced since then. It seems he was shot dead last night itself," the ASP said.

Angry over the murder, hundreds blocked Samastipur-Tajpur Road near Dharampur Chowk for several hours.
 

The blockade was lifted after district officials assured them about action against those who have committed the crime.

He worked at a private hospital run by one Dr Renu Shah.
