A ward boy of a government hospital here was shot dead allegedly by bike-borne assailants near Trishundi area in the district.
Achyutanand Pandey, a resident of Makunpur, was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne men when he was returning home last night near Trishundi under Piparpur police station, Circle Officer R K Chaturvedi said.
The deceased was posted at a primary health centre at Belsuna in Bhadaiya block of Sultanpur district as a ward boy, police said, adding, efforts were on to nab the culprits.
