It was a hot day today in Delhi despite scattered rains in the morning as mercury rose to 36.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.5 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, said a MeT department official.
The Safdarjung observatory recorded traces of rainfall till 8.30 AM. Lodhi road and Ayanagar also witnessed light rainfall, while areas under Ridge and Palam received 0.4 mm rainfall during the same period.

The MeT department has predicted overcast conditions along with the possibility of light rains and thundershowers tomorrow.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rain or thundershower is likely to occur towards afternoon and evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 35 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal while the minimum had settled at 25.6 degrees Celsius.
