Hot day in Delhi as mercury touches 40 degree mark

After a brief spell of rain, it was a hot day in the city as mercury touched 40 degree celsius mark today.

The maximum temperature settled at 40.6 degree Celsius, one degree above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.5 degree Celsius, one notch below normal, the MeT office said.

A brief spell of rain in the city last evening had brought relief to Delhiites as the maximum temperature, which had shot up to 43.6 degrees Celsius yesterday, came down significantly following the light showers to settle at 39.8 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level oscillated between 40 per cent and 25 per cent.
 

The Met department has predicted partly sky with possibility of dust storms and thunderstorms in some areas of the city tomorrow.
