Hot and humid weather conditions prevailed in parts of Haryana and Punjab today though the weatherman has predicted rains over the next two days.
Chandigarh recorded its maximum at 36.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, the MeT department said.
Mercury in Ambala settled at 35.3 degrees Celsius, which was one notch above the normal, while Hisar recorded its maximum temperature as 34 degrees Celsius, it said.

In Punjab, Amritsar registered a high of 34.8 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their maximums at 36 and 35.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The weatherman has predicted rain or thunder showers at many places in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days.
