Hot day in national capital

It was a hot day in the national capital today with the maximum and minimum temperatures rising six notches above the season's average.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 39.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 24.8 degrees Celsius, both six notches above normal.

The minimum temperature, which was recorded in the morning, was the highest this season, a Met department official said.

The humidity levels oscillated between 73 per cent and 27 per cent.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature had settled at 38.9 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 21.5 degrees Celsius.

For tomorrow, the weatherman has predicted a partly cloudy sky with rain or thundershowers likely to occur in the morning in some areas as well as mist or haze.
 

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 38 degree Celsius and 23 degree Celsius, respectively.
