Hot, humid conditions in Himachal Pradesh

Barring moderate rains and thunderstorms at few places, weather remained dry in Himachal Pradesh, even as the MeT department issued warning of heavy rains at some places during the next 48 hours.

The sky remained overcast at most places in mid and higher hills, including Shimla, but there were no rains and hot and humid conditions prevailed.

Una in foothills was hottest in the region with maximum and minimum temperatures at 34.6 degrees Celsius and 24.1 deg while Bhunter recorded a high of 33.0 deg, followed by Sundernagar 32.8 deg, Solan 29.0 deg, Dharamshala 27.8 deg, Nahan 26.6 deg, Kalpa 25.4 deg and Shimla 23.5 deg C.
 

Nahan and Dharamsala had 36 mm and 16 mm of rains while Kasauli and Dharampur in Solan district experienced 9 mm and 7 mm of rains.

Minimum temperatures dropped by one to two notches at some places and Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a low of 23.7 deg C and 22.2 deg, followed by Palampur 21.8 deg, Dharamsala 20.8 deg, Solan 19.8 deg, Nahan 18.6 deg, Shimla 17.8 deg, Manali 16.8 deg and Kalpa 15.2 deg, two degrees above normal.

The local MeT office has predicted rains and thundershowers at many places and heavy rains at isolated places during next 48 hours in the state.
