Hot weather conditions in Punjab, Haryana

Hot weather conditions today prevailed in several parts of Punjab and Haryana with maximum temperatures hovering above normal level at various places in both the states.

Union Territory Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, braved hot weather at 39 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, a MeT department report said today.

Among other places in Haryana, Hisar recorded maximum temperature at 40 degrees Celsius while Ambala and and Bhiwani settled at 39.6 degrees Celsius and 37.6 degrees Celsius respectively.

Karnal and Narnaul registered their maximums at 35.6 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees Celsius respectively.

In Punjab, Amritsar experienced hot weather at 39.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal while Ludhiana and Patiala had high of 39.6 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius respectively.
 

MeT department predicted light to moderate rains at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours. It has also predicted heavy rains at isolated places on June 24, 25 and 26.
