Hot weather conditions prevailed in Punjab and Haryana today with the maximum temperatures staying above normal levels in both the states.
The Union Territory of Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 35.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, according to the MeT office here.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala and Karnal recorded maximums at 34.7 and 34.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. Bhiwani and Hisar had a high of 34.4 and 36 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recoded mercury at 34.7 and 35.4 degrees Celsius while Amritsar recorded a high of 34.6 degrees.
According to the MeT forecast, light to moderate rains may occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
