Hot weather conditions prevailed in most parts of the region, with Hisar and Narnaul registering the maximum temperature at 42.8 degrees Celsius.
Bhiwani and Karnal experienced a hot day recording respective above normal maximum temperatures of 41.4 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological Department report said here.
Chandigarh, the common capital of Haryana and Punjab, too had a hot day at 40 degrees Celsius, up three notches against normal limits.
In Punjab, Patiala braved the hot weather at 41.3 degrees Celsius.
Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded near similar above normal highs at 40.6 degrees Celsius and 40.8 degrees Celsius.
According to the MeT forecast for the next two days, rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab.
