With tourist season round the corner any news of violence or rioting may prevent people from coming to the city, Rakesh Chauhan, President of Agra Hotel and Restaurant Association said.
The various associations of hotels, restaurants and travel agencies have appealed the district officials to take the required steps to ensure such incident does not occur again, he said.
Annoyed by the death of a person due to the alleged thrashing by policemen, local residents held a protest at Fatehabad road on Friday.
The protestors resorted to brickbatting, in which city mayor Ram Shankar Katheria and 10 tourists including two foreigners were injured, SSP Agra S C Bajpai said.
Four cases have been registered against the rioters, the SSP said.
