Hottest December for Pink city in last 13 years

It was perhaps the hottest December in last 13 years in the Pink city with minimum temperature dropping to 8.5 degree Celsius, unlike in the past when it was recorded between three and seven degrees Celsius on some days.

The last day of the year saw a minimum temperature of 10.4 degree Celsius. The average minimum temperature in December in the city remained at 9.2 degree Celsius.

From 2002 to 2015, minimum temperatures had gone lower, ie, between 3 to 7 degree Celsius, said a Met department official.

According to Met department data, minimum 3.0 degree Celsius was recorded on December 29, 2006.
