House burgled in Greater Kailash

The house of the managing director of a private company was burgled by two unidentified armed youth in Greater Kailash area here on Tuesday, police said.

Police said the youth, posing as courier boys, entered the house when the managing director Kawaljeet, along with his family, was out and his mother, along with the servant, identified as Raju, was present.

"Raju opened the door and the boys told him that they had got a parcel. The moment Raju extended his hand to take the parcel, he was overpowered by the accused who then threatened to shoot him," said a police officer.
 

The officer said the youth, armed with pistols and knives, tied Raju in another room and gagged his mouth before opening the almirah and the lockers and making their way out with the jewellery and cash worth estimated to be worth Rs. 10 lakhs.

Hearing the commotion, Kawaljeet's mother woke up and saw Raju tied. She then untied him but the robbers had fled by then.

Based on a complaint, police have registered a case in this regard.
