House of kidnapped girl catches fire, family blames accused

Family members of a girl who was kidnapped last month, today complained to police that those behind the crime tried to kill them by setting their house on fire at Kashi village here.

Their house caught file yesterday following which they lodged a complaint with the DIG, police said.

The girl, a resident of Kashi village was allegedly kidnapped on Jauary 23 from Modinagar area following which a complaint was lodged and two persons were arrested, they said.

However till now, the girl could not be traced and hunt is on to nab another accused, police said.

Convener of Uttar Pradesh BJP Business Cell Vinit Agarwal Sharada, who accompanied the family members to meet the DIG, accused police of sitting idle over the matter.
 

Meanwhile, officials at Partapur Police Station said that on the basis of the family's complaint, four persons have been booked in connection with the fire incident and investigation is on.

The DIG has assured the family that proper action will be taken against the accused.
