Under the policy 50 per cent plots of Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) belonging to the private developers would be transferred to the Housing Board at a subsidised rate of Rs. 500 per square yard for construction of flats for BPL families, he said.
He said the Director General, Town and Country Planning, Haryana, has so far identified 10,000 plots to be transferred to the Board throughout the state and possession of 4493 plots has been taken over by the Housing Board Haryana.
Possession of balance plots would be taken as and when development works are completed.
The state government has also formulated a new policy under which a provision has been made by the Haryana Urban Development Authority to earmark 10 acres of land in each new sector to be carved out by HUDA to construct houses.
