Housewife allegedly poisoned to death by in-laws

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly poisoned to death by her in-laws for dowry in village Dhobni under Bodam police station, police today said.

On his return to home on Monday night, Girdhar Singh, the husband of the victim Kavita Singh, found foam oozing out of Kavita's mouth and immediately rushed to M G M Hospital here with the help of the villagers, the Officer-in-charge of Bodam Police station, Vinod Kumar Singh said.

Kavita, who had a love marriage with Girdhar in a temple six months ago, succumbed on way to hospital, Singh said.

The couple were living separately while Girdhar's parents were living in part of the house.
 

On being informed, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body late last night and sent the body for post-mortem today.

Meanwhile, Kavita's mother has accused that her daughter was killed for dowry by her in-laws including Girdhar.

A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the IPC against them on the basis of the statement of Kavita's mother, who was a native of village Jerghuttu.

Police begun investigation in the incident, Singh said adding that no arrest was made in this regard as yet.
