Approvals for housing applications in Delhi will be made online beginning this month-end, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said in Lok Sabha about the step aimed at bringing in transparency in the system.
After Delhi, the measure will be replicated in Mumbai and then across the nation, he said while replying to a debate on Demand for Grants for Housing and Poverty Alleviation (HUPA) Ministry.
"The approvals for housing in Delhi will be made online. There will be no person-to-person contact... So there will be no hand-to-hand contact," said Naidu, making it clear that the step was aimed at bringing in transparency while handing out approvals.
