Whitney Houston's mother Cissy has called the invite to a pre-Grammy party "obscene" as her superstar daughter died last year just before she was supposed to attend the bash. Whitney passed away on February 11, 2012, at the age of 48, just before she was scheduled to attend Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party. Recently, the singer's family members were invited to attend the annual bash, though they disagree over whether they should attend. "I got an invitation to the party, which is the most obscene thing. I don't know why they would want me to come to the party in which she died, you know? Unheard of," said Cissy. "I guess maybe he just sent me a copy for remembrance sake," she added. The late "I Will Always Love You" singer's brother Gary Houston and sister-in-law Pat feel very differently about the invitation. The couple said that they will attend the party to support Davis, reported Us magazine. "(Clive) was such an important part of Whitney's life. I mean, that was her industry father and he really, really was. My husband and I will definitely be there this weekend to support Clive. Absolutely," said Pat. The founder and former president of Arista Records, 80, discovered Whitney at a New York City nightclub when she was just 20 years old. Last year, Davis gave a tearful speech to his party guests about Whitney's death.
