Himachal Pradesh Assembly was today adjourned sine die after 19-day long Budget Session which was boycotted by the main opposition party BJP.

The Session had fourteen sittings and besides passing the general budget for 2014-15, motion of thanks on Governor's address was also adopted during the Session but BJP did not participate in the Session right from the opening day on February 3.

BJP disrupted the Governor's address, boycotted the budget speech of the chief minister and did not participate in discussions on budget and motion of thanks of Governor's address.

No BJP member was present in the House even on the last day. The session was a tame affair in the absence of the opposition and there were no heated discussions on any issue.

For the first time, the major opposition party boycotted the entire budget session.

In his concluding remarks in the House, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh criticised the BJP for not attending the House and not discharging their responsibility to raise public issues.

"House is the appropriate forum for raising the public issues but the BJP members shun their responsibility," he added.
