The Himachal Pradesh cabinet today approved setting up of Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) for water supply and waste water management in Greater Shimla Planning Area and other places.
The estimated cost of the project to be implemented with financial assistance from the World Bank is Rs 770 crore.
The Cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, also approved in principle transportation guidelines for the safe plying of school vehicles. It was also decided that the transport department would send letters to the principals of all private schools on behalf the chief minister informing them about the school transportation safety guidelines.
The decision was taken after 27 schoolchildren and three others were killed when their bus fell in a deep gorge in Kangra district.
The Cabinet decided to provide honorarium of Rs 21,500 per month, three per cent annual increment, 12 days casual leave and 10 days medical leave along with framing of transfer policy for the Gram Vidya Upasak working in elementary education department as Primary Assistant Teachers.
The Cabinet decided to create and fill up various posts in Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for Shimla and Dharamshala Smart City Mission to execute works worth Rs 2,906 crore and Rs 2,105 crore for Shimla and Dharamshala respectively.
The Cabinet decided to create a new Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Public Works Department at Kangu in Mandi district.
