Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today accepted the resignation of Rajesh Dharmani from the post of Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS).

"I have accepted Dharmani's resignation from the post of CPS after he refused to reconsider his decision. I had asked Industries minister Mukesh Agnihotri to talk to Dharmani and prevail on him to withdraw the resignation, but he declined to heed to our request," the Chief Minister said.

Dharmani sent his resignation letter on October 2 and the Chief Minister accepted it after returning from Delhi.

Dharmani was inducted as CPS, along with Vinay Kumar and Neeraj Bharti, on December 25, 2012 soon after Virbhadra Singh was sworn in as the Chief Minister.

Earlier, another CPS Rakesh Kalia had resigned after he was appointed as AICC secretary.

Asked about possibilities of induction of new faces as CPS or in the council of ministers, Singh said, "There is a possibility of appointing some MLAs as CPS or Chairman and Vice-Chairmen of Boards and Corporations. Expansion of the ministry is also on the cards.
