Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today laid the foundation of eight floor block of state secretariat to meet the increasing requirement of space.
Laying the foundation stone of the new block in the secretariat premises on his birthday here, Singh said four floors would be earmarked for parking while remaining would accommodate bank branches, conference hall, canteen, waiting rooms, pantry, dining room and separate smoke cabin.
Himachal Pradesh Secretariat is housed in 126-year-old heritage building since 1967 and another block was added in early eighties in two phases but today there is acute shortage of parking and office space.
