Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today laid foundation stone for a new lift at the Mall Road here with a capacity for carrying 25 people.
He said the lift would be constructed by state Tourism Department with assistance of Asian Development Bank at a cost of Rs 6.50 crore.
The lift will link the cart road with mall road.

Earlier, laying the foundation stone for a Primary Health Centre in New Shimla, he said the basement parking constructed by people will be opened soon to ease congestion caused by idle parking.
He said small Blue Line buses would be plied in the sectors in New Shimla to facilitate the commuters.

Healso inaugurated a multi-level car parking in New Shimla constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore with capacity for 70 vehicles and also laid foundationstone for additional storey of girls hostel of RKMV to cost Rs.50 lakh.
He honoured Shashi Kala Negi, who bagged silver medal in National Boxing Championship in her category.
He later inaugurated 33 KV sub-station at Sankat Mochan constructed at a cost of Rs.5.80 crore to supply power to consumers of Taradevi,Chamrog, Badhai, Sankat Mochan, Chakkar, Dhaar, Tyari, Baag, Fayal, Tarari khud, Lagru, Kotla, Jajhar khud, Malog, Sheelgaon, Anji, Shagheen, Lower Tutikandi and surrounding areas.
