HP experiences 29 pc deficient rainfall during July

Himachal Pradesh which experienced 143 per cent excess rains during June, received 29 per cent deficient rainfall in July.

The state, however, received 13 per cent excess rains during the current monsoon season from June 1 to July 31, 2013, local MeT office said.

The state received 222 mm rains against normal rainfall of 311 mm during July while the total rainfall during two months was 462.6 mm against normal rainfall of 410.4 mm.

District Una received the highest rainfall 27 per cent more rainfall than the normal.

Kangra district received the highest rainfall of 666 mm which is 14 per cent more than the normal while seven districts received deficient or scanty rainfall.
 

The tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti received lowest rainfall, which is 95 per cent less than normal rainfall.
