Six persons have been arrested today in connection with the mysterious death of a forest guard whose bare body was found hanging from a tree in a forest in Mandi district last Friday.
Forest guard Hoshiyar Singh (22), was missing since since June 5 and his body was found by the local police on June 9, an official said.
The deceased's uncle has alleged that Singh was killed by forest mafia following which a case of murder was registered.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by the Additional SP of Mandi, which was formed to probe into the case, today arrested the six accused for the killing of the forest guard, police said, adding post-mortem and forensic reports are awaited.
Himachal Pradesh forest employees federation has demanded a judicial inquiry into the death of the forest guard and had threatened to launch a stir if any attempt is made to dilute the sections of the IPC in the FIR registered in this connection.
