'HP govt committed to rehabilitation of 827 Pong dam oustees'

Himachal Pradesh government is committed to allotment of 'murabbas' (land) to all 827 left out Pong Dam oustees in Rajasthan, state Revenue minister Kaul Singh Thakur today said.

Discussing the issue with Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Singh Kataria and Revenue Minister Asha Ram Chaudhary at Jaipur, Thakur accompanied by HP's Agriculture minister Sujan Singh Pathania said Himachal government was committed towards the welfare of Pong Dam oustees and was making all out efforts for their rehabilitation.

Thakur said that due to the concerted efforts of the Himachal Government, as many as 577 'murabbas' had been allotted during 2015 where as 250 murabbas were allotted to the oustees in Sriganga Nagar, Surat Garh, Anupgarh, Garhsana etc.
 

Ministers of Rajasthan Government informed in the meeting that the land had already been identified for 800 'murabbas,' which was a government reserved land and the same would soon be got de-reserved and allotted to the eligible oustees for which the necessary codal formalities would be completed within next six months.

Appreciating the good gestures of Rajasthan government, Thakur said that a consensus was arrived in the meeting to give an opportunity to those oustees who did not apply for land due to one reason or other.

He said that necessary directions had been given to the Deputy Commissioner (Relief and Rehabilitation) Nurpur to expedite the process.

Thakur said that Himachal government had been requesting time and again to the Rajasthan for providing 2.25 lakh acre land for which the Raje government has now agreed in principle.
