Himachal Government, which had promulgated two ordinances to bring "retention policy" to give relief to about 30,000 people who had raised illegal constructions in the past, is contemplating bringing "one time settlement" policy to regularise the illegal constructions.
"The draft of the 'one time settlement' policy has been prepared and cleared by the Law department but illegal constructions on private lands would be regularised while the illegal constructions on encroached or government lands would not be regularised," Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma said.
Further, the house owners who had availed the benefits of earlier retention policies would not qualify for regularisation of illegal constructions under the new policy.
He said that the policy would be placed in Vidhan Sabha after approvalof the Cabinet.
