The Himachal Pradesh government will order a fresh probe into the alleged pulse scam in the state Civil Supplies Corporation during the previous BJP rule.

Transport and Civil Supplies Minister G S Bali while replying to a question of Sanjay Rattan (Congress), told the House the previous BJP government had ordered an inquiry into the matter on March 16, 2012, in which two government employees were chargesheeted.

Rattan asked why only two officers were chargesheeted and no action taken against senior authorities including, the Procurement Officer and the then Managing Director.

Bali, later assured the House that a fresh probe would be ordered into the matter.

The alleged scam pertains to alleged irregularities in the tendering process for purchase of pulses for supply under Public Distribution System.
