The Himachal Pradesh government will impart training to 3180 youngsters during the current financial year to assist them in finding suitable jobs, a senior official said today.
As part of the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN)-- a state government undertaking-- of the total candidates, 1440 were undergoing training in 37 centres in different streams, Principal Secretary (Technical Education and Industries) R D Dhiman said.
Presiding over a review meeting of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Yojana with Training Service Providers (TSP) here, Dhiman assured to strengthen HPKVN district teams for support to the TSPs and quality audits of training programme.
He advocated a robust mobilisation strategy with the support of HPKVN district coordinators and forging linkages with industry to assess the demand of skilled manpower for sustainable placement opportunities.
HPKVN Managing Director Rohan Chand Thakur said the programme was all set to enhance the skills of the youth so that they can get work in industrial houses or become self-employed.
