HP Guv, CM greet people on eve of Raksha Bandhan

Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat, chief minister Virbhadra Singh, former chief minister P K Dhumal and several other leaders have greeted people on the eve of 'Raksha Bandhan'.

Acharya Devvrat expressed hope that Raksha Bandhan would not only strengthen the bonds of brotherhood but also play a significant role in creating a cordial atmosphere in the society.

Virbhadra Singh said the festival was celebrated to strengthen the bonds of love and affection in our family and society.

He said this occasion was an opportunity to promote peace, harmony and brotherhood in the state and the country.

In his greetings on the occasion, former chief minister P K Dhumal said that Rakhi was a bond which never breaks and same spirit should be spread to strengthen the nation.
 

The government has declared holiday for women employees tomorrow while Transport minister G S Bali has declared that women would be given free travelling facility on ordinary HRTC buses tomorrow.
