The Himachal Pradesh cabinet today approved a proposal to hire 140 data entry operators for the smooth implementation of the Unemployment Allowance Scheme 2017.
The cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh also finalised the eligibility for the allowance.
It decided that all jobless youths who have passed 10+2 examination and registered themselves in employment exchanges for one year would qualify for the allowance.
Under the scheme, the state government will provide Rs 1,000 per month to jobless youths.
It also gave approval to implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhaya Gramin Kaushal Yojna (DDU-GKY) under National Rural Livelihood Mission.
