A comprehensive strategy has been drawn up to tackle open defecation in Himachal Pradesh and the state is all set to achieve the target set by the total cleanliness programme by 2019, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said today.
Presiding over an event of Maharishi Valmiki Sampooran Swachhta Award at National Institute of Technology (NIT) here, he said a comprehensive strategy has been adopted to motivate people adopt safe sanitation.
The chief minister distributed prizes, which included a citation and cash award of Rs 10 lakh, to panchayats which have better child sex ratio and have adopted safe sanitation and cleanliness.
He also launched DARPAN, a DM-Dashboard application, for monitoring and analysis of various ongoing projects and schemes in Hamirpur district.
