HP to run additional buses to tackle Diwali rush

Himachal Pradesh government will operate more than 200 additional buses connecting Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla and other places during Diwali to accommodate extra rush.

An official of Himachal Road Transport Corporation today said 38 additional buses would be pressed into service from the inter-state bus terminal at Delhi on November 1 and 40 buses on November 2 besides the regular bus service.

From Chandigarh, 25 additional buses would ply on October 31, 47 on November 1 and 45 on November 2, he said.

There would be four additional buses from Shimla to Chandigarh and other parts of the state on October 30, five on November 1, and 21 on November 2, he said.
 

The spokesman said additional bus services would also be provided from Baddi area of Solan district, adding that 25 buses would be pressed into service on November 1 and 26 buses on November 2 and eight on November 3.

Bus reservation facility was available from the departing bus station, he said.
