Mizoram Home Minister R. Lalzirliana today said that the demand of Manipur-based Hmar People's Convention (Democrats) for alleviation of current talks at the political level would be looked into after consulting state chief minister Lal Thanhawla.

Lalzirliana told PTI that the HPC (D) expressed desire to turn the present official-level talks into political parleys, which would be decided in consultation with the chief minister.

He said that date for the next round of talks was yet to be decided as the proposal was yet to reach him.

"I think the decision would be made after I return from Delhi," Lalzirliana said.

The Mizoram government and the HPC (D) held the first round of talks on January 31 last when both parties signed a bilateral Suspension of Operations (SoO) to be effective for six months.

Except for the meeting of the Joint Monitoring Group headed by the state Superintendent of Police (SB) H Ramthlengliana and represented by three members from both sides held on April 19, the talks are yet to resume.
