Himachal Pradesh minister G S Bali, who headed the drafting committee of Congress' charge sheet against the previous BJP government, today said the HPCA issue should not overshadow other charges made in it and they too should be probed with the same intensity.

Speaking to reporters here, the Transport Minister said the charge sheet contained many other allegations which were supported by documentary evidence and all these charges should be probed by the vigilance and anti-corruption bureau to bring the culprits to book.

The probe into the charge sheet was adopted as a policy issue by the government and the same was handed over to vigilance and anti-corruption bureau for investigation. The charges of benami land deals which was a major allegation should be thoroughly probed, he said.

Bali said he would take up the matter with Chief Minister to ensure that the vigilance agency deals with corruption charges against the Prem Kumar Dhumal government effectively and holds expeditious probe into all other cases also.

The vigilance bureau, after the Congress return to power, had filed three FIRs against Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) for alleged irregularities. Investigation in one case has been completed and prosecution sanction against Dhumal was granted by Governor Urmila Singh.

In reply to a question about BJP's threat to pull down the state government, Bali said: "The government headed by Virbhadra Singh is stable, strong and enjoys confidence of the MLAs including independents.

"The Lok Sabha elections can't be termed as vote against the government. Yet, we have owned the responsibility for the defeat. The government would last its full term and BJP is day dreaming that the government would fall," he added.
