Congress in Himachal today urged Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to take action against the Officers with Doubtful Integrity and shift them from sensitive posts. at the earliest.

"Congress has adopted zero tolerance against corruption and government employees facing proceedings and figuring in the list of 'Officers with Doubtful Integrity' must not be allowed to continue on sensitive posts," Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said.

The leader asked the Chief Minister to fix a time-frame for speedy completion of departmental proceedings and trials against such officials so that they do not take advantage of the delay.

He said the posting of such erring officers on sensitive posts also hinders smooth working of honest officers in the state and government should give clear cut message to the public that corruption will not be tolerated at any cost.

Sukhu reminded the Chief Minister that Congress had vowed corruption-free governance in its election manifesto. And the government had started inquiries against the corrupt acts of the previous BJP government, when several government employees were puppets in the hands of political bosses causing heavy loss to the state and ured him to take strong action.
