To encourage judicious utilisation of petroleum products, the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) today kick-started a campaign by organising a cycle rally here.

Minister of State for Finance Ajay Kumar Nanda flagged off the rally as part of the nationwide awareness programme 'Saksham Cyclothon-2017'.

The minister said the rally was aimed at creating awareness among the masses towards judicious utilisation and conservation of petroleum products such as fuel, oil and gas in their day to day life.

"As part of the activities being organised across the country the cycle race will have positive impact on the people of the state also," Nanda added.

Senior Regional Manager, HPCL Jammu, Aijaz Ahmad Kachroo, said various events aimed at creating mass awareness for conservation of petroleum products are being organised in the state.
