The Himachal Pradesh Minorities Finance Development Corporation has given loans worth Rs 56.79 crore for "self employment" ventures of minorities in 2015-16 benefiting 3,427 people, state Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dhani Ram Shandil said today.
Presiding over the 40th meeting of Board of Directors (BoD) of the Corporation, Shandil said that as many as 2,123 people of minority communities had been provided loan of Rs 30.45 crore besides a sum of Rs 26.34 crore was advanced to 1,304 specially abled for self employment.
Further loans amounting to Rs 27.02 lakh were given for pursuing higher education to 17 persons while311 specially abled persons were given loans amounting Rs 11.62 crorefor continuing higher studies, he said.
The minister urged the Board of Directors of HPMFDC, Panchayati Raj Institutes and officers of various departments to ensure timely delivery of benefits of various schemes to every nook and corner of the state.
