Hindustan Power Projects Pvt Ltd (HPPPL) achieved a critical milestone towards commissioning its 1200 MW phase 1 (600 x 2 units) at Anuppur thermal project in Madhya Pradesh by successfully conducting the boiler light-up test for the second unit.
"The successful conduct of boiler light-up test signifies the readiness of the boiler for power generation process and the company has started the work for steam blowing and synchronization of the unit well within the scheduled timeline," Hindustan Power Chairman, Ratul Puri told PTI.
"The country needs a robust growth in our energy sector hence the objective of the organization is to deliver a state-of-the-art thermal project capable of sustainably generating high efficiencies," Puri said.

The company is setting up a 2520 MW thermal power plant in phases at village Jaithari, district Anuppur.
The plant has achieved critical milestones in terms of land acquisition, coal and water linkage, securing various statutory and other clearances ahead of schedule.
