HR consultant found dead in Ghaziabad hotel

A 27-year-old HR consultant was found dead in suspicious circumstances at his hotel room in Indirapuram area this afternoon, police said.

Amit Malik, a native of Rohtak in Haryana who ran a Human Resource Consultancy in Noida, was found dead by the hotel staff, police said.

As per initial investigation, it appeared that Malik had committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol, they said.

Giving details, police said hotel staff found Malik, who was living there since December 12, 2013, in a pool of blood in his room.

"After spotting Malik's body, a call was immediately made to police. We found a pistol kept on his chest and some bullet wounds were also found on his temple. Police have rushed him to nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead," DSP Ran Vijay Singh said.
 

Police said some whisky bottles and cigarette butts were also found in his hotel room.

"As per preliminary investigation, Malik may have committed suicide with pistol. Police are, however, probing the case from all angles," the DSP said, adding that his family has been informed.
